PLATELET RICH PLASMA (PRP)
Platelet Rich Plasma is a highly effective treatment to stimulate hair follicles and skin cells. A great treatment for those seeking a more natural method to facial rejuvenation, by boosting skin quality using your own cells. This treatment is also highly effective in the treatment of hair loss and thinning.
PRP treatment involves taking a sample of blood (typically the same process as a standard blood test) then placing the collection tubes into our centrifuge and spun to separate the plasma. This plasma is then re-injected back into the treatment area required.
Platelets are responsible for healing and contain active molecules called growth factors, which allow for the natural healing of damaged tissues.
PRP is the only available product that contains elevated levels of naturally occurring growth factors that help stimulate hair follicles making it extremely useful for men and women’s hair restoration programs. The primary purpose of using PRP in hair restoration is to stimulate inactive or newly implanted hair follicles into an active growth phase.
PRP can be injected into all areas of the face, neck, décolletage, hands, body and scalp.
For effective treatment, we recommend a series of appointments, these typically occur on a monthly or six-week basis for three to four months. After the initial treatment, we will recommend a maintenance plan based on your individual needs, this is typically one visit every six to twelve months.
Results should be visible two weeks after initial treatment and full results around four months, as platelets stimulate the release of growth factors assisting in collagen regeneration. Increasing the collagen in your skin means over time your skin will appear rejuvenated, younger and fresher. Results will vary from one individual to the other.
